The GDI-8030-03 is the wide, shallow three-person cabin in the Golden Designs 8000 Reserve range: 61 inches wide but only 41 inches deep, eight full spectrum heating elements in a 5 + 3 configuration, and 2,200 watts on a single dedicated 120V / 20A circuit. Golden Designs lists a second 3-person Reserve model, the deeper GDI-8230-01 — these are genuinely different saunas, and this one is the choice when wall width is available but room depth is not.

Why Consider the Reserve GDI-8030-03?
This is the shallowest three-person cabin Golden Designs makes in the Reserve series, and that is its whole argument. At 41″ deep it projects no further into a room than the two-person GDI-8020-03 while seating three across a 61″ bench. It also stays on a single circuit — a dedicated 20-amp one — where the other 3-person Reserve model needs two separate 15-amp circuits. For a finished basement or a garage wall where running a second circuit is awkward, that difference usually decides it.

Golden Designs publishes the 5 + 3 configuration but does not publish which count corresponds to which infrared band, so Wellari does not state a near/far split for this model. Note that the other 3-person Reserve cabin, the GDI-8230-01, uses a different 3 + 6 array totalling nine elements.
Why we do not publish a number. Golden Designs' current V26.0 documentation, all issued on the same date, states different Near Zero EMF measurement figures for its full spectrum range in different documents — the model-family sheet, the full spectrum sheet and the dealer workbook do not agree with one another. Because those figures conflict, Wellari publishes the manufacturer's classification and does not quote a milligauss value until Golden Designs reconciles them. If a specific measured figure is a decision criterion for you, contact us and we will request it in writing.

A 20-amp circuit is not the same as a 15-amp one. At 2,200 watts this model steps above the 15-amp class used by the two smaller Reserve cabins. It needs a dedicated 20-amp breaker and a matching 20-amp outlet, serving the sauna and nothing else. Confirm with a qualified electrician before ordering — a 15-amp circuit will not run it, and an existing 20-amp breaker feeding a 15-amp receptacle is not sufficient either.
Allow for the roof overhang when measuring against a wall — the body is 41″ deep but total projection is closer to 46″. Measure the full delivery path as well as the installation area, and leave working space around the cabin during assembly.

Natural wood notice: Grain, tone, knots and other natural characteristics vary between cabins and may differ slightly from product photography. This is normal for solid Hemlock Fir and is not a defect.

They are genuinely different models. This GDI-8030-03 is 61″ wide and 41″ deep with 8 heaters (5 + 3) on one 20-amp circuit, shipping in 3 cartons. The GDI-8230-01 is 58″ wide and 50″ deep with 9 heaters (3 + 6) on two separate 15-amp circuits, shipping in 5 cartons. Choose this one for a shallower footprint and simpler wiring; choose the 8230-01 for cabin depth and heater count.
How does it compare with the corner GDI-8035-03?
The two share the same 5 + 3 heater array, the same 2,150–2,200 watt class on a dedicated 20-amp circuit, and the same 3-person rating. The difference is footprint: this model is a wide rectangle for a straight wall, the 8035-03 is shaped to sit into a room corner.
Why doesn't this page state an EMF number in milligauss?
Because Golden Designs' own current documents disagree. Three V26.0 documents issued on the same date give three different measurement figures for the full spectrum range. We publish the manufacturer's Near Zero EMF classification and are seeking a reconciled figure. Ask us if you need it in writing before ordering.
