VT027 Pivotal Oscillation Plate

The VT027 is the one model in Vibration Therapeutic’s range that does not use linear motion. Instead of lifting the whole deck vertically, it tilts about a central axis — a see-saw movement driven by a planar four-bar linkage. That gives it a 10 mm travel at the platform edge and a much lower 5–14 Hz working range than the linear models, which is a genuinely different experience rather than a cheaper version of one.

Wellari Expert Take

Why Consider the VT027?

Pivotal oscillation and linear vibration are often sold as if they were points on the same scale. They are not. On the VT027 the deck pivots, so travel increases the further your feet are from the centre — which is why a 10 mm figure here is not comparable to the 2.6 mm on a VT007. The working frequency is correspondingly lower, 5–14 Hz against 10–40 Hz, because you are being rocked rather than shaken.

Most people have a clear preference once they have stood on both. If you have tried a linear plate and found it too intense or too buzzy, this is the one to try. If you specifically want vertical motion, the VT007 or VT009 is the right page instead — the VT027 will not give you a milder version of it.

Best For

  • Anyone who specifically wants pivotal, see-saw motion rather than vertical vibration.
  • Users who found a linear plate too intense at higher frequencies.
  • Home use where a lower-frequency, larger-travel movement is preferred.
  • Single users comfortably under the 250 lb rating.
  • Buyers who want the largest motor in this range at the lowest price point in it.

VT027 Features & Buying Details

Vibration Technology & Motion Pattern
  • Vibration Type: Pivotal oscillation — the platform tilts about a central axis.
  • Drive System: Planar four-bar linkage.
  • Motor Power: 200 W.
  • Platform Material: ABS shells on a welded steel tube skeleton.

A four-bar linkage converts the motor’s rotation into a controlled rocking motion rather than a vertical throw. Because the deck pivots, the amount of travel your foot experiences depends on how far it sits from the centre line — near the axis the movement is small, at the outer edge it reaches the full figure. This is the single most important thing to understand about oscillating plates, and it is why stance position changes the intensity as much as the speed setting does.

Frequency, Amplitude & Intensity
  • Frequency Range: 5–14 Hz.
  • Maximum Amplitude: 10 mm.
  • Amplitude Settings: not applicable — amplitude is set by stance position, not by a switch.
  • Maximum G-Force: 2.5, as published by the manufacturer.

Unlike the linear models, the VT027 has no High/Low amplitude selector. Intensity is controlled by speed and by where you place your feet. The 10 mm figure is the maximum travel at the outer edge of the deck, and it should not be read as directly comparable to the millimetre figures quoted for linear plates.

Platform, Capacity & Build
  • Maximum User Weight: 250 lb, when operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Platform Material: ABS shells screwed onto a welded steel tube skeleton.
  • Machine Weight: 28 lb.

The manufacturer does not publish machine dimensions or a packaged shipping weight for the VT027, so neither appears in the specification table below. We have left those rows out rather than estimate them. If you need the footprint or the carton size before ordering — for a storage cupboard or a lift, for example — ask us and we will request the figures from the manufacturer in writing.

Controls, Setup & Portability
  • Intended Setting: home use.
  • Placement: a solid, level floor. A vibration-resistant mat is recommended to reduce noise and stop the unit drifting at higher speeds.

The manufacturer’s product documentation describes remote operation and a detachable push-up bar attachment with multiple mounting sockets. These details are reproduced from that documentation and are not part of the verified specification table below — in particular, we have not been able to confirm from the manufacturer what is supplied in the box, so do not assume the push-up bars are included. Confirm the box contents against the manual or ask us before ordering.

Warranty, Safety & Contraindications
  • Warranty: 10-year manufacturer warranty (United States).
  • Place the platform on a stable, level surface before operation.
  • Begin with lower speed and session-duration settings, and with a narrow stance, until you are familiar with the equipment.
  • Follow all manufacturer instructions on stance, positioning, weight limits, operation, maintenance and storage.
  • Stop use if unusual discomfort, dizziness, instability or equipment irregularities occur.
  • Individuals with medical conditions, implanted electronic devices, balance concerns, pregnancy or other health considerations should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before use.

Compare the Vibration Therapeutic Range

Model Motion Frequency Amplitude Max User Platform
VT007 Linear 10–40 Hz 0.7–2.6 mm 250 lb 20 mm fibreboard
VT009 Linear 10–40 Hz 0.8–3.1 mm 300 lb 6 mm steel
VT027 (this page) Pivotal oscillation 5–14 Hz 10 mm 250 lb ABS on steel tube

The VT027 is the odd one out by design. The VT007 and VT009 are the same linear motion at two scales, so choosing between those two is about capacity and deck stiffness. Choosing the VT027 instead is a decision about motion — and the amplitude figures across the two types are not directly comparable.

Before You Buy: pivotal oscillation feels quite different from vertical vibration — if you have not stood on an oscillating plate before, that is the thing to be sure about, not the specification sheet. Confirm the box contents before ordering if you are buying it for the push-up bar attachment.

Common Questions

How is pivotal oscillation different from linear vibration?

A linear plate lifts the whole deck straight up and down. The VT027 tilts about a central axis instead, so one side rises as the other falls. Travel is greatest at the outer edge and near zero at the centre, which means your stance changes the intensity. Linear plates run much faster — 10–40 Hz against 5–14 Hz here.

Why is the 10 mm figure so much larger than the linear models?

Because it measures a different thing. On a pivoting deck, 10 mm is the maximum travel at the edge of the platform. On a linear plate, the whole surface moves the same distance. The two numbers should not be compared directly.

Are the push-up bars included?

We have not been able to confirm the box contents from the manufacturer’s published documentation, so we are not going to tell you they are included. Ask us before ordering and we will confirm it with the manufacturer.

What is the maximum user weight?

250 lb, as recommended by the manufacturer.

Is this a medical device?

No. The VT027 is fitness and movement equipment. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.

Why Buy From Wellari

Manufacturer Specifications, Stated Plainly

Every figure in the specification table above comes from Vibration Therapeutic’s own published model comparison, not from a marketing sheet. Where the manufacturer does not publish a figure — machine dimensions and packaged weight for this model — we leave the row out rather than fill it with an estimate, and we say so. If you need a specification that is not listed here, ask us and we will request it in writing from the manufacturer.
