SNM8 Fretwork Silicone LED Face Mask
At about 98 grams the SNM8 is the lightest mask Wellari carries — roughly a third the weight of a filled silicone mask. It is made from soft food-grade silicone with an open fretwork pattern, so air moves through it while you wear it instead of the mask sitting sealed against your skin.
Wellari Expert Take
Why Consider the SNM8?
The reason people stop using a face mask is almost never the light — it is that the mask is heavy, warm, or slides when they move. The SNM8 answers all three with one design decision: an open fretwork instead of a solid panel. At about 98 g it is the lightest mask in this range by a wide margin, and the gaps let heat escape rather than build up against your face.
It is also the most versatile on colour modes — ShineNova lists eight. Where it is less complete than its siblings is documentation: ShineNova publishes numbers for three of those modes and does not publish how the mask is powered. If those details decide your purchase, ask us before ordering and we will put the question to ShineNova.
Best For
- Anyone who has found a face mask too heavy or too warm to keep using.
- Shoppers who want the widest choice of colour modes in the ShineNova range.
- Softer, flexible silicone rather than a firm shell.
- Face coverage — if you want your neck covered too, the SNM7 is the one to look at.
SNM8 Features & Buying Details
The Fretwork Design
- Weight: about 98 g (3.4 oz)
- Material: food-grade liquid silicone, soft and flexible
- Structure: suspended fretwork — an open pattern rather than a solid panel
- Fit: flexes to different face shapes
The open structure does two jobs at once. It keeps the weight down, and it lets air move so heat does not build up over a session. That is the practical difference between this and a filled silicone mask.
Light Modes and Wavelengths
- Red and near-infrared: 630 nm and 850 nm
- Yellow and amber: 590 nm
- Blue and violet, green and cyan, white: further colour modes — ShineNova lists eight in total but does not publish a wavelength in nanometres for each one
- LED lifespan: rated by ShineNova at 100,000 hours
We publish the three wavelengths ShineNova states as numbers. For the remaining modes the manufacturer names the colour but not the wavelength, so we name the colour too rather than filling in a figure.
On output. ShineNova states an irradiance of up to 60 mW/cm² for this mask but does not publish the distance it was measured at. Without that distance the figure cannot be compared against another brand, so we report it as the manufacturer states it and leave it out of our mask comparison.
Power, Use and Care
- Power setup: not published. ShineNova’s documentation refers to a controller but does not state whether the mask runs on a battery or stays connected during a session
- Sessions: ShineNova suggests use as part of a daily routine, starting with shorter sessions
- Cleaning: wipe with a soft cloth. Do not submerge the controller in water
- Suitable for: home use and professional spa programmes
Because the power configuration is not documented, we will not guess at it. If cordless use matters to you, the CS-001 and the RLM-6 are the two masks in the range with a confirmed built-in battery.

Common Questions
How heavy is it, really?
About 98 grams. For comparison, the SNM7 face and neck set is around 530 g and the RLM-6 is about 308 g. If weight is what has put you off a mask before, this is the lightest one we carry.
Is it cordless?
ShineNova does not publish the power configuration for this model, so we do not state one. Its documentation mentions a controller. If you want a confirmed cordless mask, look at the CS-001 or the RLM-6.
Does it cover my neck?
No — the SNM8 covers the face. The SNM7 is the only mask in this range that includes a neck panel.
How many wavelengths does it actually have?
ShineNova lists eight colour modes and publishes numbers for three of them: 630 nm, 850 nm and 590 nm. We publish the three figures it states and name the rest as colours.
Can I use it every day?
ShineNova suggests it as part of a daily routine and recommends starting with shorter sessions to see how your skin feels. Follow the instructions supplied with your mask.
Why Buy From Wellari Wellness
Manufacturer Specifications, Stated Plainly
Every figure on this page — weight, material, wavelengths, LED lifespan and irradiance — comes from ShineNova’s current published documentation for the SNM8. Where ShineNova names a colour mode without giving a wavelength, or does not publish how the mask is powered, we say so rather than filling in a number. Products are sourced through verified manufacturer, distributor or supplier channels.
Not sure which mask suits you?
Tell us how you would use it — how often, whether you want it cordless, and whether you want your neck covered too — and we will tell you which of the seven fits, including when the least expensive one is the right answer.
